(1.) Careful attention? Did you know that 85% of all damage in piano moving is minor damage to a leg or the corner of the piano etc...? Having moved and seen pianos transported for the last 30 years I can honestly say that most if not all could have been avoided by doing three simple things: 1.Keeping your hands on a piano at all times! 2. Cover the piano always! 3. Go slow and watch were you are going!
(2.) Padding? A proper thick moving blanket will save the piano when the elevator is tight and the piano will rub against the railing or doorway. There is an unhealthy Macho attitude with some movers not to cover the piano because they are “professionals”.
(3.) As a rule we always give a two hour window (hell of a lot better than the cable company) for the move and usually can keep in touch with the customer to give them “heads up”. Often our clients can wait at work and once they receive a call will have time hop on the subway to get there to meet the movers.
(4.) countless piano moves in every kind of situation and pianos we are experts at what we do and can confidently quote a flat rate on every move every time.
(5.) Because we own and operate a piano store and a restoration facility in Manhattan we are in a unique position to have access to technicians and if need be parts to an old piano you bought from craigslist. We are not just movers we live and breathe pianos every day. We are a brick and mortar business that is open 7 days a week not a .com with a cell number and no location.
(6.) We have happy customers and for a good reasons. No damages ever! always on time and on budget.
(7.) Many buildings in NYC require a certificate of insurance for liability and workman’s compensation from a contractor (mover, carpenter, plumber etc...) These are insurance policies that are written for a specific building and time frame They have to exactly correct to the buildings requirements (not even misspellings are allowed) you have to make sure that the mover has an appropriate policy before booking the move.
